Four days before the new year is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the year’s results. Let's take a look at all the exciting things we’ve experienced in 2023 at the Academic Writing Center.

This week we ran the final workshop in the series led by Dr. Leslie Dupont. This time, Dr. Dupont invited colleagues from HSE University and other Russian universities to discuss effective writing group organization. The topic is of great relevance to all authors and researchers because peer reviewing does not only help develop writing skills, but also contributes to professional growth and strengthens motivation.

This semester, the AWC presented a new course led by an international specialist in academic writing.

The Academic Writing Center continues a series of online workshops with Leslie Dupont, a writing expert from the University of Arizona. The second workshop was focused on the book review as a genre.

We have noticed that many colleagues who attend courses and workshops at the Academic Writing Center are so inspired by this experience that they tend to come back again and again. As we value the loyalty of our visitors and take keen interest in their progress, we constantly update our programs and offer new courses.

Although it has been some time since the advent of artificial intelligence, the interest in AI tools seems to be growing stronger by the day. Therefore, the AWC continues exploring the topic of AI tools and their application in research writing.

Learning from others is a useful skill for an author, especially if they write in a foreign language.

On November 16-18 the National Writing Centres Consortium held its fifth international conference “TESOL Contexts: Global Practices of Teaching Academic Writing,” which gathered writing professionals from 8 countries.
