Who is Responsible for Text Understanding?
On 12 February 2019, Svetlana Suchkova, AWC director at HSE, ran a workshop for teachers and researchers at the Center of Academic Writing and Communication of RANEPA. The workshop was focused on developing self-editing skills. Workshop participants discussed the differences between Anglo-Saxon and Russian traditions of writing an academic text. Participants wrote their own texts and improved the text readability, using strategies that the presenter suggested.
We thank the organizers and participants for very positive feedback. That was a good start of collaboration between two writing centers.
