The Academic Writing Center is an educational hub where you can develop a variety of skills that you can rely on to be visible in the global academic community. One of the most useful and challenging skills is public speaking. It is demanding even in your mother tongue, but in a foreign language it becomes rather daunting. How to overcome communication barriers and fears? You know the answer: with the help of the AWC!

On October 5, we ran the intensive one-day “Public Speaking Crash Course” for the third time. In just one day, participants learnt about an effective presentation structure, polished their vocabulary for presenting in English, developed and recorded a complete mini-speech. The course trainer Zhenya Bakin kept the group engaged and provided each group member with personalized feedback on their speech.  

This course is all about practice, meaningful interaction, and tangible result:
