A course to guide you through the writing process

Do you have ongoing research that you would like to publish in an international journal? Have you been trying to finish writing a research article for some time? Do you need extra motivation as well as improved writing skills? Then the AWC online course "Basics of Writing an Empirical Research Article in English" guided by the instructor Natalia Smirnova is definitely for you!

The course allows participants to expand their knowledge of academic language, article structure, and international writing conventions. They engage in writing, reviewing, and rewriting and receive individual feedback from the instructor. The course has remained highly popular for several years due to its practicality. It will certainly be repeated next year, so follow the updates on our website and register.

In their feedback, the participants of this year’s course have pointed out how useful it has been for them:

“I am glad to have signed up for the course. It made me stay motivated, try to meet deadlines, look at my project from a new perspective, narrow down the topic, have some points regarding academic writing cleared up. Thank you very much for such an opportunity to develop and advance my academic writing skills!”

“I want to thank Natalia for her involvement and guidance. She gave good recommendations about the whole process of writing and about my actual text. She was very delicate and polite in communication, and the course itself was well-organized and full of new information for me.”

“First, I found out what the IMRAD structure is. Second, I acquired a lot of useful information about choosing the target journal, working with the selected article. Third, I got to know about the method of steps, when you check the logic of the text, moving step by step, from one idea to another, analyzing if there are any gaps between your ideas. I think you I will use all of this new information in my future work.”

We thank Natalia and all the participants! There will be more programs, both new and established, next year. Check the information on our site at the end of summer and join us in the exciting writing journey!
