How to write an article with the IMRaD structure
The course “Language of Scientific Writing: From Learning to Individual Production” has finished at the HSE Academic Writing Center.
We congratulate the colleagues who have successfully completed this 7-week marathon. With Vera Dugartsyrenova’s help participants prepared drafts of the research articles with the the IMRaD structure.
The course has received the highest grade – 9,9 out of 10. In the feedback the colleagues have emphasized that they now feel more confident in their writing:
- “The course was hard but very useful. I am grateful to Prof. Dugartsyrenova for her comments, good-structured lectures and materials, and I can see how the article I was working on has improved.”
- “Before enrolling in this course, I had a very basic understanding of the structure of the article in international journals. The problem is that in humanities these structures are often not so obvious, the articles are not so well-structured and named correspondingly, as in an 'ideal' case. But this course helped me a lot to better understand what an article is, what parts it has, how to organize the argumentation within each section. It also helped me to learn some specific language constructions, use of the passive/active voice and tenses. All of this is really helpful and useful for me. I also feel much more confident.”
We thank Vera and the participants!
We invite you to take part in the final event of this year – the online workshop "Sandwich model for incorporating sources into your text. Part 2"
