Workshop "Building bridges: Understanding and engaging with Bangladeshi culture"
In our interconnected world, building strong relationships across cultures is more important than ever. I am excited to invite you in our exploration by turning the spotlight onto Bangladesh, a small country between the Himalayas and Bay of Bengal.
Whether you're working on academic research, international projects, or simply curious about the world, understanding the cultural nuances of your Bangladeshi partners can make all the difference. I will try to explore the heart of Bangladeshi communication, how values like respect, community, and hospitality shape the way people connect.
Building trust in a Bangladeshi-style: We’ll talk about the importance of "golpo" — the art of building relationships through informal conversation, often over a cup of milk tea.
Practical do’s and don’ts: learn simple verbal and non-verbal cues that can help you avoid misunderstandings and build genuine rapport with colleagues from Bangladesh.
The session isn’t just about theory; it’s about gaining practical tools to help you foster more meaningful and successful academic or business relations with Bangladeshi People.
