Workshop "Emotional intelligence as means to successful communication in the modern world"

In today’s rapidly changing social, academic, and professional environments, successful communication requires more than cognitive skills and subject knowledge. This workshop explores the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in effective human communication, particularly in the context of increased digitalisation and the growing presence of artificial intelligence.

We will examine how emotions are connected to cognition; how to recognize, regulate, and respond to emotions—both our own and those of others. We will discuss how self-regulation, empathy, and emotional flexibility influence the way we speak, listen, collaborate, and resolve misunderstandings. Through interactive tasks and teaching practices, this workshop will demonstrate how emotional intelligence supports clarity and confidence in communication across academic and professional contexts. Participants will gain practical insights into why EI has become a key human competence in the modern world, and how to implement this soft skill into everyday teaching.
